We've gotten such great feedback already from those of you who have submitted answers to our survey!

One of the things that has been on my mind for quite a while now is adding another member (or perhaps two) to create a team of hosts. This would not only be a great help to me, but would also allow us to expand our group and explore other opportunities as we continue to grow :)

Not to mention that I (Emerson) will most likely be leaving the area in 2026 once I graduate from the university :( It's not something I like to think about, since I've come to love Iowa City so much, especially this group, but definitely something that's been on my mind more as of late.

SO! We're starting by inviting members to "apply" to be a weekday host - I tried to list as many duties as I could think of in terms of what I do for the group.

However, if you're interested in joining our team to take care of or help with a specific duty (designing graphics, posting to the website, sending the newsletter, etc.), please also email us!

I'm excited to engage in conversation with anyone who is interested in helping out :)

Thanks to everyone who came out for some silent reading yesterday. It was great to see you all, and also have some of you pick out pins for having read 5 books for our Fall Reading Challenge!
